Unintentional additional generosity

So today I took the cab to the office and that cost roughly $3.50 Singapore dollars. So I gave the guy a $10S. He was giving me some change back and I saw he had a bill and was struggling with some change. I didn't want the change, I was just going to take the $5S and give him the rest. I forgot that Singapore uses coin dollars a LOT more than we do in the states. The bill he had was actually a $2S. I didn't actually look at it until I got upstairs because based on my American-ism, I just knew it was going to be a $5S. Oops.
Edit: After chatting with folks in the office, Singapore is not big on tipping cab drivers or anyone else. Good service is rewarded with more business and gratitude, not additional money. In environments where it is expected, it is included as a service charge in your bill. And you know what... I like it that way.
